- Bag used litter and clumps; do not flush.
Check the delivered bag for the current full formula and directions.
Use and daily care
Begin with a clean, completely dry tray. Add litter to the depth stated on the delivered bag. If the pack does not specify a depth, start at around 3–4cm. Then adjust it for the tray design and the cat’s preference. Remove faeces and wet clumps daily, top up only as required and wash and dry the tray regularly.
Changing litter
- Choose a quiet, accessible tray location away from food and water.
- For a cat that dislikes abrupt changes, add a small amount of the new litter to the familiar litter.
- Increase the proportion gradually over several days while watching normal tray use.
- Keep the tray location, depth and cleaning schedule consistent during the transition.
- If the cat avoids the tray, return to the last accepted mix and transition more slowly.
Texture and scent preferences differ between cats. Kittens, senior cats, cats with mobility limitations and cats with a history of toileting outside the tray may need a slower change. Product suitability for litter trays does not guarantee acceptance by every cat.
Disposal
Do not flush used litter or dense clumps. Plant-derived material can still swell, form a blockage or conflict with local council and wastewater requirements. Scoop used litter into a suitable bag, close it securely and place it in the appropriate household-waste stream. Do not compost litter containing cat waste unless both the delivered label and your local authority explicitly permit that method, and never apply used cat litter to edible gardens.
Safety and storage
- For cat litter-tray use only; not for ingestion.
- Pour gently and avoid breathing airborne dust.
- Avoid eye contact and wash hands after handling used litter.
- If you are pregnant or immunocompromised, follow medical guidance about handling cat waste.
- Keep the bag away from children, food, pet food and water bowls.
- Store sealed in a cool, dry place and protect it from moisture.
- Stop using the litter if it is associated with persistent coughing, eye irritation, paw irritation or clear tray aversion.
- Follow the delivered pack whenever its ingredient, warning, use or disposal information differs from this page.
Litter choice cannot diagnose or treat disease. Seek veterinary advice if a cat suddenly toilets outside the tray, repeatedly enters without producing urine, strains, cries, passes blood, produces unusually small amounts, has persistent diarrhoea or seems unwell. Inability to urinate can be an emergency, particularly for male cats. Do not assume the litter is the only cause of a sudden behaviour change.
