How the Orbee-Tuff Snoop works
- Turn the deep opening outward.
- Add suitable dry treats or kibble.
- Push the opening back into the toy.
- Place the Snoop on a clear floor and show your dog how food moves.
- Supervise while your dog nudges, paws and rolls the toy.
- Remove the Snoop when the food is gone.
Treat size changes the release rate. Smaller pieces may fall out faster, while larger pieces may need more movement. Start with an easy setup. Then adjust the food size or amount after you see how your dog plays.
Large 5-inch size and dog fit
The current official Outward Hound Snoop page gives dimensions of 3.75 inches high by 5 inches long and wide.
However, breed labels cannot guarantee a safe fit. Choose the toy from your dog’s jaw size, weight, age and play style. The toy should be too large to swallow. Also, a strong chewer still needs close supervision because the manufacturer calls Snoop an interactive dispenser, not a chew toy.
Material and mint-oil boundary
Outward Hound identifies the toy as Orbee-Tuff TPE that is free from BPA, lead and phthalates. It also states that the material contains mint oil. The mint scent is a product feature, but it does not replace tooth brushing, dental checks or veterinary dental care. It also cannot promise fresh breath for every dog.
No toy is indestructible. Teeth, claws, heat and repeated bending can damage TPE. Inspect the rim, base and inner pocket before every session. Remove the toy at once when you find a split, puncture, loose piece or major shape change.
Not a chew toy or unsupervised toy
- Stay with your dog during every Snoop session.
- Do not leave it in a crate or play area after food is gone.
- Stop persistent chewing and redirect to a suitable chew product.
- Remove and replace a damaged Snoop immediately.
- Keep it away from children.
- Count all treats or kibble within the dog’s daily food allowance.
Cleaning the Planet Dog Snoop
- Empty all food from the toy.
- Fill it with warm water and mild soap.
- Shake gently to wash the deep pocket.
- Rinse well until no soap remains.
- Open the pocket and air dry it fully before storage or use.
The current manufacturer directions specify warm water and mild soap. They do not state that this model is dishwasher safe.
Optional Orbee Nook add-on
A 2.5-inch Orbee Nook can fit inside the Snoop opening to increase the challenge. It is a separate Planet Dog accessory. This product includes only the large green Snoop unless the order summary clearly states otherwise.
Add the Nook only after your dog understands the basic toy. Also watch the dog closely because a separate insert changes the play pattern and food release.
Slow feeding and enrichment limits
The Snoop can make a dog work for food and may extend feeding time. However, results depend on food size, amount and play style. It cannot guarantee slower eating, reduced anxiety or the end of boredom or destructive behaviour.
For meal use, measure the kibble first and include it in the normal daily allowance. Ask a vet before changing feeding methods for a dog with swallowing trouble, dental pain, a prescribed diet or another health condition.
