PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin Self-Cleaning Litter Box uses a rotating system to separate waste from litter into a sealed drawer. App connectivity lets you view your cat’s weight and litter-box usage, while manual cleaning controls remain available on the unit.
Important kitten restriction
Leave the litter box unplugged, or turn off Auto clean in the app, and scoop manually until your kitten is both at least 1.1 kg and 6 months old. Meeting only one of these conditions is not enough for automatic cleaning. Follow the supplied PetSafe guide when introducing any cat to the box. The child lock locks panel controls; it does not replace the kitten restriction.

Check that your cat can enter, turn and use the box comfortably. Weight and usage records can help you notice changes, but they do not diagnose health conditions.
Setup and litter choice
Follow the current PetSafe setup instructions supplied with your unit. App connection requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Use the recommended clumping litter, select Add Litter mode when topping up and never fill above MAX. Large pellets, including some tofu litters, may not work with the sifter.
Emptying the drawer
Empty the drawer when it is full and check it regularly. PetSafe’s guide gives approximately weekly emptying for one cat, twice weekly for two cats and every few days for three or more. Actual intervals depend on use and litter; a 6 L drawer does not guarantee two weeks without maintenance.
Cleaning safely
Unplug before deep cleaning. Wash the removable parts as the guide directs with warm soapy water and dry them fully before reassembly. Avoid bleach, harsh cleaners and citrus-scented cleaners.
The electronic base is not waterproof. Do not rinse, immerse or spray it. Clean it with a dry or slightly damp cloth only, following the supplied instructions. Follow the product’s litter-waste handling precautions and keep sensors clean as directed.
