Description
Mr Fothergill’s Cat Grass Seed Raiser Kit
The Mr Fothergill’s Cat Grass Seed Raiser Kit is an all-in-one setup for growing fresh cat grass at home. It includes a reusable mini greenhouse, a Jiffy Quick Soil Mix pellet and a packet of Cat Grass seeds.
Kit contents
- Reusable mini greenhouse: a brown growing tray with a clear lid for early seed raising.
- Compressed soil pellet: expands with warm water to create the growing mix.
- Cat Grass seed packet: contains Dactylis glomerata, the species listed for this product by Mr Fothergill’s.
- Australian product identification: SKU 9980 and barcode 9324190099806.
How to sow
- First, read the delivered sleeve and remove the outer packaging, clear lid and seed packet.
- Make the small drainage holes described on the pack. Then place the soil pellet in a separate container and add 300ml of warm water.
- After the pellet fully expands, transfer the mix to the tray and press it down gently.
- Sow the seeds about 3mm deep, cover them lightly and place the clear lid on top.
- Keep the mix damp but not waterlogged. The pictured pack says seedlings usually appear in 3–5 days; remove the lid after they emerge.
Growing and care guidance
Grow indoors in a bright position and follow the seasonal outdoor directions on the delivered pack if you move the kit outside. Growth speed varies with the seed batch, temperature, light and moisture. For a continuing supply, the pack suggests making successive sowings in separate containers.
Supervise your cat when offering young grass. Cat grass does not replace complete food or veterinary care, and it is not guaranteed to prevent digestive problems or fur balls. Remove mouldy, slimy or unusually scented growth, clean the reusable tray before sowing again, and keep unrelated houseplants away from cats.
Pack note: This listing is for one complete seed raiser kit. Packaging and growing directions can change, so follow the delivered sleeve if it differs from this page.
