Description
Compact mat splitting for difficult coat areas
The Artero One-Blade Matt Breaker helps divide manageable mats in dog and cat coats. Its single hook-shaped blade works on one small section at a time. Therefore, you can use it in tight areas where a large tool feels awkward.
The compact body measures about 7 × 6cm. In addition, its controlled grip helps around paws and underarms. However, the blade is sharp. Careful handling is essential during every session.
Why choose this one-blade tool?
- Single blade: works on individual parts of a mat.
- Hooked shape: enters a tangle from the outside edge.
- Compact size: reaches smaller coat areas more easily.
- For dogs and cats: suits many thicker coat types.
- Stainless steel: supports regular grooming when kept clean and dry.
How to use the matt breaker
First, make sure the coat is dry. Next, locate the skin beneath the mat. Hold the hair between the tool and the skin. Then, start at the outside edge of the tangle.
Use short movements that travel away from the body. Work on only a small piece at once. After that, brush the separated hair gently. If the tool catches, stop and choose a smaller section.
Never saw back and forth. Likewise, never point the blade towards the skin. Do not pull hard or place your supporting hand in front of the blade. Instead, keep both the pet and your hand in a safe position.
When to stop
Stop if the pet moves suddenly or shows pain. Also, avoid the face, genitals, skin folds and wounds. Do not use the tool on inflamed skin. Tight mats at skin level need professional attention.
After dematting, check the skin for redness. Then, use a slicker brush and comb to finish the coat. Finally, remove trapped hair from the tool. Clean and dry the blade before storage.
Keep the matt breaker in a secure place. Children and pets must not reach the blade. With patient handling, this compact Artero tool can support detailed coat care.
